My name is Sophie, and I have crowned myself a walking expert. I walk between 7 and 12 miles a day, regardless of rain, snow, or heat waves. Even when I think I’ve seen it all, there’s always more to explore.

A city’s walkability is my top priority when choosing a place to live, which is why I fell in love with New York. Walking lets you get to know a city while also supporting a healthy lifestyle—and in NYC, both are within easy reach.

I started NYC On Foot to share my walking knowledge with the world because I'm fortunate enough to live in what I believe is the greatest city in the world, and I want everyone to experience the city as I have. I combine experience and research to paint an honest picture of the different neighborhoods, parks, and vibes New York has to offer.

Additionally, I've encountered the trials and tribulations of the current job market, like many other recent college grads. After spending years completing applications and uploading my resume into what felt like an empty void, I decided to create a business of my own by doing what I love most: walking and writing.

Welcome to NYC On Foot!
